Rejuran Treatment
What Is Rejuran®?
Rejuran® is an injectable treatment containing polynucleotides, substances derived from salmon DNA. Polynucleotides are used in clinical settings as part of a personalised cosmetic treatment plan to support skin quality and appearance, where skin changes related to ageing or environmental factors may be present.
Rejuran® does not add volume in the same way as dermal fillers and is used for skin quality treatments rather than structural augmentation.
Your Consultation
All treatments begin with a one-to-one consultation with a qualified health practitioner. During this consultation, the following will be assessed:
- Medical history
- Skin concerns and condition
- Previous cosmetic or aesthetic treatments
- Individual goals and expectations
Based on this assessment, suitability for treatment will be determined and a personalised treatment plan may be developed. Treatments involving regulated injectable products are provided following a clinical consultation and, where required, a valid prescription, in accordance with regulatory requirements.
About the Procedure
The treatment area will be prepared using a medical-grade cleanser to support procedural safety.
Comfort measures such as topical numbing cream, ice, or local anaesthetic may be offered, where clinically appropriate.
Rejuran® may then be administered into the skin using fine needles, based on the treatment area and clinical assessment.
Treatment duration varies depending on the number of areas treated and individual requirements.
Approximate appointment time: 30–60 minutes (including preparation)
Discomfort: Generally mild to moderate; temporary stinging or pressure may be experienced during injection
Risks and Potential Risks
Rejuran® is an injectable treatment containing polynucleotides derived from salmon DNA. It is used as part of a cosmetic treatment plan to support skin quality where age-related or environmental skin changes may be present.
As with all injectable cosmetic procedures, Rejuran® treatments carry risks and potential risks.
Common side effects may include temporary redness, swelling, bruising, tenderness, small bumps at injection sites, itching, or discomfort. These effects are usually mild and resolve over time.
Less common risks may include prolonged swelling, inflammation, infection, nodules, uneven skin texture, skin discoloration, or hypersensitivity reactions.
Rare but serious complications may include vascular compromise, tissue injury, scarring, or skin necrosis, which may require medical intervention.
Treatment outcomes vary between individuals and cannot be guaranteed. A comprehensive face-to-face consultation with a qualified health practitioner is required prior to treatment to assess individual suitability, explain risks and potential risks, and obtain informed consent.
Recovery & Post-Treatment Care
Temporary effects may occur following treatment and can include redness, swelling, tenderness, small bumps at injection sites, or bruising. These effects are usually short-lived and resolve over time.
Post-treatment advice may include:
- Avoiding touching or massaging the treated area for at least 4 hours
- Avoiding strenuous exercise, heat exposure, saunas, or direct sun for 24–72 hours
- Avoiding products containing alcohol, exfoliants, or retinoids during the recovery period
- Gentle cleansing and daily use of sunscreen (SPF 30 or higher)
- Sleeping with the head slightly elevated if swelling occurs
A follow-up appointment may be recommended, depending on individual response and treatment plan.
